Functions of University of Veterinary Science
- Production of competent veterinarians for nationwide veterinary services regarding farm animals, companion animals and zoo and wildlife animals.
- Production of qualified animal science professionals, who will take leading role in commercial livestock production according to the State policy for livestock and aquaculture sector.
- Conducting applied and innovative research on animal science and veterinary medicine for sustainable development of livestock sector in Myanmar.
- Signing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and collaboration with International Organizations and Universities.
- Extension and public education on livestock production and prevention and control of infectious animal diseases and zoonotic diseases.
- Organizing seminars, workshops and conferences by collaboration with international organizations and universities for advancing knowledge and technology.
- Revising curriculum according to the guideline of World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) and harmonizing the curriculum with that of the veterinary and animal science universities from ASEAN countries
- Creating short and long term, local and international training for the capacity enhancement of academic staff in their related field of study.
